I started training after watching a
documentary called Jump Britain on Channel 4 after which I started messing
around with friends who all got bored and moved on to something
else. This is when I found Herts Parkour, I started taking my
training seriously and realised exactly what Parkour was. Since then
Parkour has become a huge part of my everyday life, not just in the
movement but the mindset, fitness and view on life.

GravesonI stumbled across Parkour
when my mum taped Jump Britain for me thinking I would be
interested, little did she know just how interested I was.
The improvement aspect is just as important as the movement, my aims
are to progress; mentally, physically and socially, welcoming new
challenges and new friends. Parkour has helped me through so many
good and bad times, and I know it will do forever.

I first learned about Parkour from the Jump
London and Jump Britain documentaries but only started training
seriously when I joined the Hertfordshire Parkour community in 2007.
Ever since then, Parkour has been a big part of my life; it just
seems to fit naturally with who I am. I aim to be a useful member of
the community and help those that are interested to form an
understanding of what Parkour is.

I started Parkour in Easter 2007 and fell in
love with the community and the freedom it gave me in movement and
life. I aim to continue to develop the Parkour community in an
enjoyable and safe, progressive manner.

Ben RoperWhen I saw Parkour for
the first time on the Channel 4 documentary, Jump London, it was
something I could not take my eyes away from. From that moment in
early Spring 2003 I have been trying to find my way through my own
training, something that has lead me to meet a huge amount of
inspiring and genuine people and of course I am still trying to
develop my own movement.
This community has come a long way, from
the very early days of the SA:PK group (St Albans Parkour) through
the prolific and ever expanding Herts Parkour community and now to
BHB Parkour. This last step brings with it something I consider the
most important of all - linking our communities. I hope our Parkour
will exist within and around our extended family and will continue
to benefit the lives of the people who follow it's practices.

I was born in Kaunas, Lithuania in February 1989 and lived there for
18 years. I have always looked to push my body and mind; I practised
martial arts for five years before I discovered Parkour in 2007
after watching the movie 'District 13'. Shortly after discovering
Parkour I moved to the UK to study at the University of
Bedfordshire, where I was instantly welcomed into the BedsParkour
community. I found Parkour both physically and mentally challenging;
this coupled with how supportive and friendly the local community
was, has developed my interest in Parkour into a true passion. I aim
to continue to improve my body and mind through Parkour, helping
others to share my passion in the process. |

Parkour first came to my attention
when the Rush Hour television advert aired on the BBC. It wasn't
until January 2005 that I found out what Parkour actually was. I
started training that night and haven't looked back. Before long, I
set up Beds Parkour with a view to helping people share my passion
for Parkour and help them begin training in a safe and responsible
way. I am proud to be the person in Bedfordshire that most people
are referred to when they start training and aim to help Parkour
have a positive future throughout Beds, Herts and Bucks.

I have my mum to thank, as she was
the one who actually watched the programme (Jump Britain) and told
me about. I did not actually show a real interest until I saw two
traceurs practising at the quadrant and it all began from there.
Parkour has played a huge role in my life and through it I have made
such genuine and down to earth friends. Although I am currently
residing in Saudi Arabia, Parkour is still a huge part of my life in
various forms.
